Summary and Purpose of Position
An opportunity has arisen for a Transport Planner to be based at one of our Distribution Centres in Stoke, Haydock, or Daventry. This challenging and interesting role will appeal to an individual with drive, determination, and enthusiasm.

Job Title: Transport Planner, any 4 from 7 days, Multi-site planning
Locations: Stoke-on-Trent ST4 4EX, Saint Helens WA11 9WB, or Daventry CV23 8BQ

Additional Information
Initial travel to sites outside of your base location will be required for training, with all travel costs covered. You will work within a network of over 50 transport planners, mainly focusing on the K-line and fresh food plans.
Responsibilities
* Assist in producing an optimal Transport plan in a time-critical environment, reviewing and maintaining it in line with operational changes.
* Ensure activities meet KPI requirements and SLAs.
* Collaborate with the Transport Operations Manager and site-based Transport teams to plan and utilize transport hours effectively.
* Manage Drivers' holidays and rotas.
* Handle exceptions on the Time and Attendance system.
* Compile weekly finance statistics.
* Prepare reports for Senior Site Management to support KPIs.
* Coordinate with operational partners, including other departments, depots, and customer locations.
* Perform other site administration tasks as required.
* Report to the Transport Manager and Planning Managers.
* Book agency and ad hoc transport as needed.
* Create peak plans for events like Easter and Christmas.
* Learn other site plans to expand network knowledge and support other depots.
Candidate Profile
* Knowledge of Ortec planning software is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided.
* Confident communicator.
* Understanding of transport operations and planning principles.
* Good organizational skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* Ability to work under pressure and adapt flexibly.
* Team player and motivator, capable of working independently.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
* Motivated by continuous improvement and high standards.
* Willingness to travel and stay away from home when learning site plans; a valid driving license is required.
The role involves shift and weekend work, as the depot operates 24/7, so flexibility is essential.
