Student Engagement Mentor Location: Sunderland Working hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (Monday to Friday) Contract type: Long term, temporary Leader Education are seeking a compassionate and committed Student Engagement Mentor to support young people aged 11–19 with complex SEND. This is a truly rewarding opportunity to help students re-engage with education, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to succeed in a supportive and nurturing environment. What You’ll Be Doing: Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development Providing targeted 1:1 and small group mentoring to boost engagement Helping students overcome barriers to learning, including communication, sensory, physical, and behavioural needs Building positive, trusting relationships that encourage confidence and independence Creating a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment Working alongside teachers and a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you’ll play a key role in breaking down barriers to learning and ensuring every student feels supported, valued, and able to thrive.
