Are you passionate about supporting neurodiverse children and young people with a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive Specialist School, providing tailored support to pupils with conditions including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other SEMH-related challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with ASD, ADHD and SEMH needs.
* Assist in the delivery of personalised learning and behaviour plans.
* Support pupils in developing emotional regulation, social skills and resilience.
* Use structured routines, sensory strategies and communication aids to enhance engagement.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs and external professionals.
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience supporting children or young people with ASD, ADHD or SEMH.
* Calm, empathetic and resilient with a flexible approach.
* Familiarity with autism-friendly strategies and behaviour support techniques.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Team Teach, Autism Awareness) are desirable but not essential.
