Job Summary
Health Care Assistant – Bank position within Wye Valley NHS Trust, working across Herefordshire community and hospital settings. This role supports nursing staff in delivering direct and indirect patient care while ensuring a safe, clean and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the registered nurse in the delivery of direct and indirect patient care.
* Report concerns to the registered nurse regarding standards of cleanliness, hazards and patient safety within the clinical area.
* Ensure the registered nurse is regularly updated on patients’ condition and progress.
* Keep equipment clean and in good working order.
* Maintain a clean and tidy environment.
* Minimise hazards in the working area and report any identifiable hazards to the line manager; adhere to all safe systems of work applicable to the area.
* Demonstrate effective written and oral communication to disseminate information.
* Maintain confidentiality at all times.
* Promote awareness of child protection issues in line with the area child protection policy and Trust policy; attend child protection training.
* Promote awareness of adult protection issues in line with the Herefordshire Multi‑Agency Policy and Procedures for the Protection of Vulnerable Adults from Abuse; attend appropriate training.

Required Qualifications & Experience
* Diploma Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care.
* Demonstrates a patient‑focused approach.
* Previous experience in a caring role (desirable).
* Minimum Maths and English GCSE grades 3‑9 or equivalent (desirable).
