Please note: This is a fixed term position for 9 months Working hours: 16 hours per week Interview Date: To be confirmed One of the UK’s most inspiring and best-known faith-based organisations is looking for a Corps Mission Worker to join our team in Camberwell. We aim to serve and support those in the local and wider community, irrespective of their background, providing safe spaces where all people are loved, nurtured, encouraged, and supported to become the people God wants them to be. Key Responsibilities: Engage with children aged 0-13 and deliver a range of ministry-based programs and activities, including a baby bank, toddler group, and kids club to support the successful delivery of mission Responsible for leading Bible-based activities, facilitating prayer, and providing chaplaincy-style support and conversations Participate in and lead Christian worship where appropriate Demonstrate both a professional and caring manner when interacting with programme participants to create a welcoming and supportive environment Fulfil any relevant administration processes to ensure that accurate records are maintained Contribute into the planning and review processes for the programmes and activities to ensure continuous improvement and development to meet the changing needs of the community Maintain close links to the community and any relevant external agencies to help identify new ways to deliver mission and facilitate the establishment of effective collaborative ways of working The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: A strong, vibrant Christian faith Excellent interpersonal skills A passion to support people. The ability to maintain efficient record-keeping systems. The ability to work efficiently as part of a team Integrity and confidentiality. This role has an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be a committed and practising Christian and will be in sympathy with the doctrines of, and supportive of, the purposes and the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army.
