The Management Accountant will be responsible for end-to-end financial management and reporting for a key business unit. Working closely with the Financial Controller, you'll provide accurate accounts, insight-driven analysis, and operational support, while also overseeing a small finance support team.
Key responsibilities include:
Producing monthly management accounts, including full P&L and balance sheet ownership
Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving variances
Delivering meaningful variance analysis and commentary
Leading monthly financial reviews with operational managers
Supporting and overseeing a Finance Administrator and Credit Controller
Preparing VAT returns and maintaining the Fixed Asset Register
Managing specific payment and reporting processes in line with internal controls
Assisting with budgets, year-end reporting, and audit prep
Supporting system use and acting as a key finance contact for operational teams
Deputising for the Financial Controller where required
As the successful Management Accountant, you will be a qualified finance professional with strong experience in a hands-on management accounting role. You'll be commercially aware, confident presenting financial insight, and able to build strong relationships across the business.
Key skills and experience include:
Strong technical knowledge and experience producing full monthly accounts
Excellent Excel skills and high attention to detail
A proactive and analytic mindset with the ability to work independently
Comfortable managing deadlines and juggling competing priorities
Previous experience supporting or leading junior finance staff
Confident communication style and ability to work closely with non-finance teams
Systems-savvy with the ability to adapt to new platforms quickly
The following benefits package is available to the successful Management Accountant:
£50,000 - £55,000 basic salary
