Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Water)
We are currently recruiting multiple Senior Electrical Design Engineers (Water) for major frameworks across the UK.
RPS, in partnership with Tetra Tech, has secured a £100 million framework from United Utilities to improve river health in Northwest England.
With over 20 years of collaboration with United Utilities, RPS is at the forefront of water industry innovation, especially as we approach AMP8. This framework aims to optimize programs, develop solutions, and select the best options focusing on value, low carbon, and cost, to deliver exceptional water services in the Northwest.
About The Team:
Our Water Consulting team comprises Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts providing Asset Management and Operational Strategy services, supporting business planning and delivery. We work with several major water companies across the UK, managing a broad portfolio of long-term frameworks.
Our projects include prestigious AMP8 programs leading into AMP9 and beyond, offering long-term career stability and impactful legacy opportunities.
About You:
You will handle technical project delivery, monitor budgets, meet deadlines, and ensure quality standards, aiming to exceed client expectations. Joining us means working on exciting projects with industry leaders, making a significant impact on communities, and leaving a lasting legacy.
Your Responsibilities:
* Ensure projects meet technical, legislative, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
* Develop innovative, optimized technical solutions based on client needs.
* Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams (process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, ICA).
* Build relationships with clients and partners on technical, commercial, and progress matters.
* Support design and advisory services for water and wastewater assets.
* Produce and check detailed electrical designs, calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings.
* Deliver projects using digital design techniques, in a Design Lead capacity where applicable.
* Mentor and develop team members.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
* Proven experience in process plant systems within complex water industry projects.
* Hands-on experience in water/wastewater projects.
* Proficiency in digital design for design and construct projects.
* Leadership skills within technical teams, fostering collaboration.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant technical field; postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
* Chartered status or working towards it.
* Membership or near membership with IET, InstMC, CIWEM, or similar.
