Overview
We’re excited to be supporting a national children’s charity in the search for a new Head of PR to lead their public relations strategy at a time of significant growth and brand transformation, in Staffordshire, UK.
This is a unique opportunity to take the reins of an ambitious PR function, supporting both service-led and high-profile fundraising communications – including a flagship gala event that has welcomed some of the world’s biggest names in entertainment. You’ll shape and deliver an insight-led PR strategy that elevates brand awareness, enhances thought leadership around disability and neurodivergence, and secures meaningful national media coverage. You’ll also manage external PR agencies and work closely with senior leadership on proactive and reactive media relations.
Responsibilities
* Lead an insight-led PR strategy to raise brand awareness and thought leadership on disability and neurodivergence.
* Secure meaningful national media coverage and manage proactive and reactive media relations.
* Oversee external PR agencies and collaborate with senior leadership on communications plans.
* Support service-led and high-profile fundraising communications, including flagship events.
Qualifications
* A strong track record of securing impactful press coverage within the charity sector.
* Excellent media relations and copywriting skills.
* Experience managing PR strategies across complex, sensitive, or purpose-driven organisations.
* Confidence handling media interviews and a proactive approach to thought leadership.
Location, Salary, and Contract
Location: Hybrid – 2 days in the office, 3 days working from home. The charity is based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire.
Salary: £55,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent | Full-time (37.5 hrs); part-time considered (4 days a week).
