Practice Education Facilitator – NHS Grampian
Department: Mental Health and Learning Disability (MHLD) Practice Education and Development Team
Location: Royal Cornhill Hospital (MH/LD Post)
Band 6 – 37 hours per week
Responsibilities
* Provide support to students, learners and staff within the division.
* Develop and maintain a learning environment where education and lifelong learning are integral to practice.
* Enhance the quality of the practice learning experience and contribute to the future nursing/midwifery workforce in line with local and national directives.
* Deliver training, education and professional development for all staff.
* Facilitate learning experiences and provide feedback to support academic and professional growth.
* Present at National Conferences to raise the profile of NHS Grampian as a learning environment.
* Travel across Grampian as required (valid UK driving licence and car ownership required).
* Subject to any Low‑Emission Zone costs if the post operates within Aberdeen City LEZ.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered nurse, Band 5 level with experience in mental health and learning disability nursing, including supervising undergraduate nurses.
* Evidence of leadership skills and the ability to support others in practice.
* Excellent communication skills and a strong sense of team spirit.
* Degree level education or equivalent; teaching qualification desirable but not required initially.
* Proven interest in training, education and professional development for all staff.
* Ability to have courageous conversations and demonstrate influencing skills.
* Dynamic, forward‑thinking approach, focused on safe, efficient and person‑centred care.
Additional Information
From 1 April 2026 the full‑time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week; part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate ensures pay is not affected.
