A reputable public services organisation in the heart of Manchester City Centre is looking to appoint a Procurement Officer with a strong public procurement background into their team to provide some short-term cover. The role is expected to last around 2-3 months initially.
Your new role
As interim Procurement Officer, you will support the delivery of efficient andpliant procurement activity across the organisation. The role involves managing framework call‑offs, coordinating with internal stakeholders to understand requirements, running lower-value tenders in line with public-sector procurement regulations, and overseeing contract renewals to ensure continuity of services.
This role is based in Manchester City Centre with hybrid working, requiring office presence 2 days per week.
What you'll need to succeed
1. A proven background in public-sector procurement, with a good knowledge of either PA23 or PCR2015
2. Excellentmunication and negotiation skills
3. Ability and confidence to challenge stakeholders
4. Proven ability to independently run tender processes, RFQs and framework call-offs
5. Goodmercial awareness
6. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple procurement tasks simultaneously
7. Available to start within the next couple of weeks
8. Willingness to attend the office in Manchester City Centre 2 days per week
