Job Opportunity: Pharmacist at NHS Forth Valley
Join our team and make a real difference! NHS Forth Valley has exciting opportunities for motivated and forward-thinking pharmacists eager to develop their clinical skills within GP practices. You will help deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care, ensuring patients receive the best outcomes from their medicines, avoiding harm and waste.
You will be part of a team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy support workers providing a well-respected Pharmacotherapy Service.
Ideal candidates will possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with clinical and non-clinical personnel and patients. Integration is a key goal of our Pharmacy Senior Leadership Team, and you will liaise closely with hospital and community pharmacy colleagues, as well as care homes, to ensure seamless pharmaceutical care.
While experience in primary care is desirable, candidates from other sectors are encouraged to apply, as full training will be provided. Newly qualified pharmacists in Scotland should be undertaking the NES Post-Registration Foundation Programme and be prepared to apply for an Independent Prescribing Course. More experienced pharmacists are expected to demonstrate competence in the RPS Core Advanced framework and support colleagues' development. An Independent Prescriber qualification is desirable but not essential, as support to achieve this is available.
Willingness and ability to travel throughout the service area are essential.
This role requires membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. More information can be found at [insert link].
For further information, please contact Euan Reid, Lead Pharmacist Primary Care, at 01324 566159 or Kevin McGhee, Project Coordinator Pharmacotherapy, at 01324 567938.
