Role Summary
We are seeking a part-time Assistant Practitioner to join our Bladder and Bowel Care team, covering Torbay and South Devon (15 hours/week).
If you are passionate about patient care and interested in a specialist clinical role within a dynamic, expanding service committed to staff development and evidence-based treatment, this is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our multidisciplinary team.

In this role, you will work mainly with care homes, developing expertise in assessing and managing incontinence to improve patient quality of life and promote best practices. You will participate in the Devon NHS containment pad service, conduct continence assessments, and ensure adherence to provision criteria.
You will support community nursing teams with bladder and bowel care, including joint home visits, and deliver education and training to care homes, agencies, and healthcare practitioners. Additionally, you will assist in uroflowmetry clinics at Newton Abbot community hospital and participate in knowledge-sharing and supervision within our team of nurses and assistant practitioners.
Applicants must be drivers, comfortable with IT systems, and enthusiastic about team-based care. Experience in bladder and bowel care is beneficial but not essential; motivation and high standards are equally important.
Working Pattern: 15 hours per week.

Pay: The salary reflects the 2025/6 Agenda for Change rates, including a 3.6% pay award to be implemented later this year. If you join before the update, your pay will be backdated accordingly. Until then, pay will be based on 2024/25 bandings (Pay scales for 2024/25 | NHS Employers).
