Tax Senior Associate / Manager - International & Private Client

A well-established mid-tier professional services firm in London, rooted in over 75 years of accountancy history and recently certified as a B Corp. The firm provides a broad suite of services spanning Audit & Assurance, Corporate Finance, Business Advisory, HR, and Wealth Management alongside deep expertise in international and private client tax advice.
Within the Private Client and International Tax team, the firm advises high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, and their family offices on complex UK and cross-border tax issues, including residency, domicile, offshore structures, trusts, and property structuring. Multilingual and globally connected, the team forms part of a respected international alliance, ensuring coordinated, cross-jurisdictional advice.
Responsibilities
* Provide strategic tax advice to international private clients, including UK tax planning related to residency, domicile, trusts, and offshore assets.
* Lead client engagements and manage client communications with a high degree of autonomy.
* Prepare and/or review UK self-assessment tax returns involving worldwide income, foreign tax credits, and complex disclosures.
* Interpret and apply double taxation agreements in client filings and planning.
* Advise on and support HMRC enquiries, settlements, and disclosures (e.g., Worldwide Disclosure Facility).
* Prepare or review returns related to CGT (including non-resident CGT), ATED, ROE registrations and updates, non-resident corporate landlords, and IHT (including 10-year and exit charges).
* Deliver tax structuring and de-enveloping advice on UK property ownership for both investment and trading purposes.
* Draft written advisory reports for high-net-worth individuals and offshore trust/corporate structures.
* Support international succession and estate planning, including trust-related tax exposure.
* Stay updated and advise clients on legislative changes including the transition from the remittance basis to the post-April 2025 UK regime (4‑year FIG, TRF, IHT long‑term residence).
* Collaborate with family offices, trustees, legal counsel, and overseas advisors to deliver integrated advice.
* Contribute to the firm’s knowledge base through insights and publications.
Requirements
* Qualifications: ATT (minimum), part‑qualified CTA/ACA for senior associate level, or fully qualified for assistant manager and above. Equivalent qualifications also considered.
* Experience: Minimum 3‑4 years of UK personal tax experience, ideally in a private client team or firm advising international clients.
* Deep understanding of UK non‑dom tax rules, the remittance basis, mixed funds, and cross‑border personal tax.
* Confident working with offshore trusts, structures, and clients with dual residency or tax exposure.
