Your role in our team:
Reporting to the Marketing Ops Director the successful candidate will be a key member of the Marketing team. We are looking for someone who is strong in Marketing data analytics, with a good understanding of Marketing processes.
The purpose of the role is to support the Marketing Ops Director in preparation of reports and carrying out analysis for key stakeholders. This will incorporate developing a deep understanding of the data driving the reporting by ensuring the accuracy of the data and implementing improvements to either the data or the processes driving the data where required. The key focus area will be around Marketing data which impacts sales and finance reporting.
This role is ideal for someone either coming from a finance, maths, marketing or sales ops background with strong analytical and MI production skills or alternatively a Data Analyst with a good grasp of marketing processes and sales finance who wants a broad and wide-reaching role, requiring both technical expertise and honed communication skills. The preferred candidate will be experienced, able to adapt to change, and someone who enjoys working with in a dynamic fast paced environment. This role will suit someone with a strong work ethic and who is looking to make an immediate impact on an exciting growth-stage company.
Key Responsibilities
* Working with dashboards/visualisations and developing an understanding of the logic which underpins these and ensuring these are fully documented.
* Developing Marketing models/automated reporting tools that help with decision-making and drive efficiencies in reporting.
* Data reconciliation, data extraction and data interrogation to ensure the data from source systems is accurate, comparable and fit for purpose.
* Produce regular reports which include key metrics, trends and variance reporting for Marketing results to understand the drivers and reason for movements.
* Perform ad hoc data analysis to produce reporting and analysis answering key business questions - there are a number of initiatives in the business at the moment.
* Work with the Head of Data to ensure progress and improvements to data and systems are implemented.
* Working with the Data team to ensure correct reports produced for month end purposes.
* Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
* Consideration of new systems – how sales data interacts with any new system is a key consideration before implementation.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Strong academic record (BA, BSc, or equivalent, 2:1 or higher), financial experience would be advantageous but not critical
* Industry experience in Marketing/Sales/Business Partnering roles
* Proven demonstrable experience of advanced SQL
* Advanced knowledge of Excel with experience of manipulating large datasets and modelling skills (pivot tables, filtering, lookups etc)
* Excellent analytical, communication and influencing skills (both written and oral), preferably with commercial exposure in previous roles
* Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Proven self-starter with experience of being able to work independently, juggling and prioritising across workloads and consistently meeting deadlines
* Has prior experience of working in a comparable high velocity technology business (SaaS, Fintech), ideally PE backed
* Prior experience in implementation of financial controls and/or process improvements in financial operations
* Experience of Business Objects, Tableau, Salesforce or PowerBI (or similar) while not essential, would be advantageous

NOTE: We work flexibly at Exclaimer (choose a work from home/office arrangement that suits you!). Some meetings and planning sessions would be in either our Farnborough or London office so some travel/in office attendance preferred
