Situated within the IT & Digital department, we are seeking an innovative and enthusiastic RPA Developer to join our team and contribute to advancing automation and efficiency in law enforcement, making a real difference to the people of the West Midlands.
You will join our award-winning Centre for Applied Automation, working alongside a dedicated team of developers within our Delivery Management function.
As an RPA Developer, you will be responsible for developing RPA solutions, as well as contributing to their design, delivery, and maintenance. You will work closely with other RPA developers, requirements consultants, software developers, and stakeholders using industry-leading tools such as UiPath.
We welcome applications from candidates with the following core skills:
* Experience in developing, testing, and supporting RPA processes using UiPath.
* Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL).
* An awareness of change impact and the ability to adapt automation strategies accordingly.
* Familiarity with industry best practices for handling exceptions and errors in automation.
* Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with business units, IT & Digital teams, and external stakeholders.
* Proficiency in automating diverse software solutions, utilizing both UI and backend methodologies where appropriate.
Experience with the following technologies is beneficial but not mandatory:
* Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
* Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
* Microsoft Power BI
* Microsoft Power Automate
Application Process:
Technical test (30 minutes): scheduled for 2nd July 2025. This involves a brief technical evaluation to demonstrate your approach to RPA challenges.
Competency Interview (1 hour): scheduled for 9th and 10th July.

Vetting:
