Key Responsibilities of the SEN Teacher:
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to students with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and complex needs.
* Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each pupil’s learning goals.
* Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
* Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to support holistic development.
* Monitor and assess progress, adapting teaching methods to meet evolving needs.
* Support pupils' emotional and behavioural development alongside their academic growth.
Requirements of the SEN Teacher:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent; SEN specialism preferred.
* Experience teaching pupils with special educational needs.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies.
* Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach.
* Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
