About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Professional to handle general accounting operations for partner companies within the Northeast region. Our environment is fast-paced and offers ample opportunity to grow and develop. This position requires an individual with a high level of initiative who will frequently exercise discretion and independent judgement. The person hired will manage the finance functions of their assigned region and report to Aspen’s SVP, Head of Accounting and the Partner Companies’ Management team in meeting organization-wide objectives. You will enjoy a broad range of responsibilities, get to know the business and operations, and build out the region’s accounting department as the region grows.

Structure of the Position

This job is full time and will require a moderate amount of on-site time at partner companies’ locations as needed.

Responsibilities

* Manage the monthly close process, assist in transitioning partner companies from Cash to Accrual Based Accounting and driving material efficiencies in the closing process.
* Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial transactions in accordance with GAAP.
* Responsible for general ledger maintenance, monthly close, reconciliations, variance analysis, financial statements, budgets and cash forecasts.
* Communicate regularly with ownership and senior management team in regularly scheduled meeting settings about financial performance, business opportunities and challenges.
* Retain and develop team members, including partner companies’ finance and accounting teams.
* Generate and monitor projections of revenues, expenses, and profits against actual performance, explaining variances to actuals clearly and concisely. Suggest methods of improving the planning process as appropriate.
* Assist with consolidated annual audit as needed.
* Maintain and improve business systems, processes, and controls, including budgets and key performance indicators, understanding the key financial drivers of the business to manage to those numbers with intensity, including identification of EBITDA addbacks.
* Assist in implementing new ERP system (NetSuite) and drive integrations with non-accounting systems (i.e., CRM, payroll, etc.).
* Post and process journal entries, record, and document financial transactions, and identify and resolve any financial data discrepancies.
* Ensure regulatory compliance with licenses, permits, sales and use tax, etc.
* Assist with cross-functional areas of the business as needed.

Qualifications

* BS Degree in Finance, Accounting, or business (Required)
* CPA Certification or working towards your certification is a plus.
* Minimum 6 years of experience in an accounting setting with at least 3 years in a privately held company, including “hands-on” work within the accounting functions. Experience in a PE-backed company a plus.
* Knowledge of and proficiency in using Accounting and CRM Systems. Experience with Quickbooks and/or NetSuite a plus.
* Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
* Creative strategic thinker, who can apply out of the box thinking to problem-solving and big picture concepts.
* Must be a self-starter, and able to work independently and be a Team Player to meet deadlines in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
* Superior oral and written communication skills.
* Highly organized with attention to detail.
* Strict confidentiality and professional maturity.

Pay range and compensation package

Aspen will offer the selected candidate a competitive base salary plus the potential of annual bonus. The actual offer will be based on a variety of factors, including experience.
