Project Engineer
Location: Essex
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience + monthly bonus
The Opportunity
We are currently working on behalf of a well-established structural engineering consultancy based in Essex, who are looking to appoint a Project Engineer to support their growing project portfolio.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering structural designs across a range of residential and commercial schemes, from concept through to construction, and will play a key role in managing projects and liaising with clients and design teams.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver structural engineering designs for residential projects, including new builds, extensions, and refurbishments
Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and technical reports in line with current UK standards
Manage projects from initial instruction through to completion
Liaise with architects, contractors, clients, and local authorities
Attend site visits and design meetings as required
Provide technical support during the construction phase
Ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high technical standard
Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate
Candidate Requirements
Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
Previous experience working on residential structural projects
Good working knowledge of UK building regulations and design standards
Experience using structural analysis and design software
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Strong communication and client-facing skills
Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (desirable)
