We have an exciting opportunity for an SMS Clinical Lead to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Leeds, a category B prison located in Gloucester Terrace in the Armley area of Leeds in West Yorkshire.

Hours
37.5 hours, Monday to Friday, 8-4pm, with no weekends or evenings.
This is a full-time position with an annual salary of up to £55,996 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK. Due to the nature of the role, employment offers are subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main duties of the job
* Provide clinical leadership and management to registered nurses and care teams.
* Deputise for the Deputy/Head of Healthcare when required.
* Coach, line manage, and develop clinical staff; support audits and governance; contribute to developing and reviewing clinical and non-clinical protocols.
* Chair healthcare meetings, provide clinical supervision, and carry out investigations locally and regionally.
* Deliver workshops on clinical processes, documentation, patient care, and joint healthcare & HMPPS processes.
* Support patient concerns, contribute to partnership meetings, and oversee patient engagement strategies.
* Lead safeguarding efforts, manage rotas, staffing shortages, and oversee agency staff hours and payroll.

Qualifications required
* Registered Nurse Adult
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development
* Understanding of multidisciplinary and multi-agency working complexities
* Prescribing qualifications (advantageous)
* Line management experience and mentorship of student nurses
* Knowledge of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP, and national standards
