Working hours: Monday to Friday 8am – 4:30pm
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 (dependent on experience)
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Civils Manager to oversee civil works in the South East Wales area, including Newport, Cardiff, and The Valleys. The role involves coordinating cabling activities, securing permits, scheduling tasks, and maintaining strong relationships with local authorities. The Civils Manager will serve as the primary contact for all site digging operations, ensuring tasks align with company values and objectives.

Job objectives and responsibilities
1. Liaise with local authorities and build strong relationships.
2. Coordinate with civils suppliers through weekly meetings.
3. Manage civils workload and communicate permit dates to the back office.
4. Ensure all works are completed safely, on time, within permits, and to quality standards.
5. Manage two field supervisors, ensuring weekly safety checks are completed.
6. Conduct bi-weekly safety checks on site.
7. Attend office meetings to discuss work volumes and provide relevant information.
8. Perform pre-site checks of works allocated to suppliers.
9. Ensure health and safety compliance on all sites, including incident and near-miss reporting.
10. Build and maintain good relationships with clients, suppliers, and the public.
11. Work safely at all times, focusing on building a durable and high-quality network.
Experience and qualifications
1. Experience with civils on the Openreach Network is essential.
2. Telecoms experience is required.
3. Knowledge of fibre build requirements is essential.
4. Experience with local authorities and permitting is desirable.
5. Supervisor NRSWA certification is required.
6. SA002 certification is desirable.
