Supply Opportunity – ALN School Support (Haverfordwest Area)
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a specialist through school in the Haverfordwest area, and we are looking for compassionate, adaptable individuals to join our supply team.
About the Role
This is a rewarding opportunity to work on a supply basis within a specialist setting supporting pupils aged 3–19 years. The school caters for learners with a wide range of additional learning needs, meaning every day brings new experiences and opportunities to make a genuine difference.
Pupils at the school have diverse needs, including:
* Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
* Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
* Speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN)
* Social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)
* More complex needs such as Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
* Pupils who may require wheelchair support and personal care
What to Expect
No two days will ever be the same in this setting. You could be:
* Supporting a pupil in a sensory session to help regulate their emotions
* Assisting with communication using PECS, Makaton, or visual aids
* Helping with personal care and mobility for pupils with complex needs
* Supporting classroom learning through tailored activities adapted to individual learning styles
* Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in line with individual behaviour plans
* Working closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver a holistic approach to learning
A typical day may involve a mix of structured classroom support, 1:1 intervention, sensory activities, outdoor learning, and helping pupils develop essential life skills. Flexibility, patience, and a proactive attitude are key.
✅ Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
* Hold an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
* Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) (or willing to obtain registration)
* Have a genuine passion for working with children with additional needs
* Be adaptable, resilient, and willing to get involved in all aspects of school life
