Overview
As a Software Development Manager in the Identity Team, you will lead engineering teams, hire, develop and retain software developers, build high‑performing teams, and drive technical strategy and roadmap. You will collaborate with stakeholders, product teams, and architects to deliver quality, high‑availability software for our customers.
Responsibilities
* Hire, develop and retain Software Development Engineers, providing coaching, mentoring and career development.
* Build and sustain an environment that enables successful development, ensuring processes, practices and standards yield high‑quality delivery.
* Lead complex software development programmes and deliver scalable, distributed systems.
* Formulate technical strategy and roadmap, driving architecture, design and adoption of reusable technology.
* Own product outcomes, proactively identify risks, propose mitigations and ensure high availability and resilience.
* Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and product teams to deliver the right outcomes.
* Guide engineers to own technical decisions and provide appropriate guidance.
Qualifications
* Experience managing software engineers and supporting their career development.
* Experience leading complex software development programmes.
* Demonstrated experience designing, developing and running highly‑scalable distributed systems.
* Strong technical leadership and problem‑solving skills in high‑pressure situations.
* Experience implementing a range of design and architecture patterns.
* Coaching, supporting and mentoring within a technical team.
