Level 3 Teaching Assistant
Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire
Protocol Education is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Shrewsbury to recruit a Level 3 Teaching Assistant. The school is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic individual to join their team and support pupils academically and pastorally.
About the Role:
You will work closely with the teaching team and other support staff to ensure a positive and engaging learning environment. The role includes assisting in class, supporting pupils with SEND and social/emotional needs, and covering classes when required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting pupils in their learning and personal development
* Implementing behaviour strategies and supporting positive classroom management
* Working under the direction of the class teacher, while also taking initiative and ownership of tasks
* Providing 1:1 or group support, including for children with SEN
* Supervising pupils during lunch periods as required
* Delivering pre-planned lessons in the teacher’s absence (when needed)
Requirements:
* Level 3 qualification in Teaching and Learning (or equivalent e.g. HLTA)
* Experience working in a primary school setting
* Understanding of supporting children with social, emotional, and additional learning needs
* Strong literacy and numeracy skills
* Organised, proactive, and professional approach
* Commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos and mission of the school (faith not required but respect and support for the ethos is essential)
