Young Persons Support Worker – The Foyer, Bath £25,878 per annum benefits | Bath | Full Time Permanent | 37 hours per week | Thursdays 11am - 7pm, otherwise standard office hours Your Support. Their Future. Real Change. At The Foyer in Bath, we work alongside young people aged 18 to 25 who have experienced homelessness - many after family breakdown or long periods of sofa surfing. Every story that comes through our doors is different and our job is to make sure every young person feels heard, safe and supported to build the life they want next. This is a chance to do work that genuinely changes lives. As a Young Persons Support Worker, you'll join a close-knit, supportive team based at our 31-flat Foyer site, working directly with residents to help them settle in, find their feet and move on with confidence. You'll be backed by an experienced Team Leader and full training, so if you bring the right values and the willingness to learn, we'll help you develop the rest. What you'll be doing Building trusting relationships with young people and delivering tailored, person-centred support plans that help them sustain their accommodation Welcoming new residents through sign-ups and inductions, making sure they understand their tenancy and the support on offer Supporting residents with budgeting, rent management and the practical skills that make independent living possible Spotting safeguarding concerns early and responding in line with policy and statutory guidance Working in partnership with internal teams and external agencies — from B&NES Housing Options to Social Services, Off the Record and Probation — to deliver coordinated support Encouraging residents to get involved in their community and shape the service through their feedback and ideas Keeping accurate records that evidence the difference you're making More about you Essential: An understanding of homelessness and the challenges facing young people accessing supported housing Experience working with people in vulnerable situations, building respectful and effective relationships Awareness of safeguarding practice and the importance of professional boundaries Strong communication and record-keeping skills, and confidence using Microsoft Office and digital systems Ability to work flexibly, including some evening working, and as part of a close-knit team A clear commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion Desirable: Experience developing support plans and risk assessments, and monitoring outcome Knowledge of social housing or tenure legislation Awareness of local training, employment and education pathways for young people This role requires an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which we'll arrange when you start.
