Lecturer in Economics – Business Teaching Ability
Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme College
Hours: Part Time (0.6 FTE)
Salary: £32,136 - £42,848 pro rata per annum (actual £19,281 - £25,708 per annum)

We are looking for a lecturer to teach A Level Economics and, where possible, A Level Business. The role requires innovative delivery, a pro‑active approach to student support, and a commitment to high teaching standards.
The ideal candidate will be an inspiring lecturer who has a proven record of innovation, a proactive approach to delivery, and an understanding of learners’ needs.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Play an active role in marketing the College and the Department through open days and liaison with local employers and schools.
* Prepare, mark, and monitor student progress; prepare reports; set and mark examination papers; develop flexible learning materials and schemes of work.
* Mentor students and monitor retention, achievement and pass rates.
Required Skills and Experience
* Holds a relevant degree or equivalent.
* Possesses an appropriate teaching qualification.
* Is well organised and able to manage a varied workload.
* Has experience delivering A Level Economics and the ability to teach A Level Business.
