Fire Systems Project Engineer – Installations
Join Dedicated IT as a Fire Systems Project Engineer – Installations. The role is based in Nottinghamshire and is a full‑time, contract position.
Job Purpose
* Install and commission fire and fire‑related systems.
* Supervise sites and projects, overseeing colleagues or subcontractors.
* Apply knowledge of codes of practice, construction safety regulations, and building plans.
* Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.
* Remain meticulous with fire/life safety standards and regulations.
Key Accountabilities
* Install, configure, and commission fire, life safety, and security systems.
* Inspect sites regularly to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards.
* Recommend changes to project operations or procedures to increase efficiency.
* Understand interconnectivity between various systems.
* Test and troubleshoot systems to ensure proper functioning.
* Provide training to end‑users on system operation.
* Practice and always comply with safety standards.
* Resolve systemic issues with short, medium, and long‑term solutions.
About You
* Knowledge and experience of Notifier, GENT, Advanced, Apollo, Hochiki, Disabled Refuge, Disabled Alarm, etc.; CCTV/Intruder knowledge is beneficial but not essential.
* Prior experience in a similar role or significant systems experience, looking to step up to a senior position.
* Sound knowledge of standards and regulations.
* Working knowledge of construction sites, tools, and equipment.
* Ability to interpret drawings.
* Leadership, analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
* Experience with multiple communication protocols from different manufacturers.
