Job Description
Due to recent contract growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Officer to oversee our warehouse in Bridgwater, off J24, TA6 6TS, supporting the HPC Nuclear Build Storage Solutions. This role is crucial for the successful delivery of this prestigious contract with EDF.
This key role involves supporting the customer contract by effectively integrating with the onsite team to ensure health & safety standards and compliance are achieved and maintained through high employee engagement and a strong safety culture.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain security clearance prior to employment, including providing a minimum of 3 years of consecutive UK employment, education, and residential history.

Day to Day Responsibilities
* Support and lead the creation and maintenance of Management Plans, Risk Assessments, and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
* Deliver training and record colleague sign-off; escalate training gaps
* Input, analyze, and report all Health, Safety, and Environment information to Wincanton and client systems
* Chair, present, and update minutes from HSE meetings, pursue closure on actions, escalate where necessary
* Manage contractors before, during, and after site access, including paperwork, Permits to Work, defect management, equipment suitability, inductions, and pass control
* Serve as point of contact for all HSE escalations across EDF/Wincanton sites
* Liaise and communicate HSE critical updates to colleagues
What You Will Bring
* Experience working with third-party service providers to resolve issues
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
* Desirable: Experience with incident reporting systems
* Experience in logistics; experience in a construction environment is beneficial but not essential
* Essential: NEBOSH qualification
