Overview
We have a full‑time secondment opportunity within Gynaecology for a Practice Development Nurse (PDN) who will develop and enhance specialist nursing knowledge, skills and competencies within the Gynaecology directorate.
Responsibilities
* Use the latest evidence to develop the practice of nursing staff within the service.
* Supervise practice, audit clinical care and support nursing staff.
* Provide skilled professional leadership and guidance within Gynaecology.
* Work closely with practice development facilitators, team leaders and the Gynaecology Matron to meet training and development needs.
* Manage and support pre‑registration students and the Gynaecology rotational programmes.
* Act as a supportive, professional role model and resource for staff and learners in practice, the classroom and external organisations.
* Participate in practice development forums, workshops, directorate meetings, staff meetings, focus groups and benchmarking groups.
* Be a clinical expert providing visionary leadership with a clear focus on resource and all matters relating to practice development in the Gynaecology Services, including the development of the rotational programme for Registered Nurses and supporting pre‑registration students.
* Collaboratively work with the Matron, Gynaecology Management Team and the MDT to deliver Clinical Development within Gynaecology.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse with appropriate knowledge, skills and competencies to deliver supervision, training and advice to all staff within Gynaecology and working with the wider multi‑disciplinary team.

Additional Information
This vacancy will close on midnight on the 27th of October. Internal applicants on permanent contracts can apply for this post as a secondment. For secondments you must have the approval of your line manager before applying. If you are an internal applicant currently on a fixed term contract you are able to apply for this as a fixed term position.
