Band 3 Resuscitation & Trauma Assistant Course Coordinator

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the coordination, administration and organisational support for all national Resuscitation and Trauma programmes held at UHB by:
* Supporting the delivery and operational processes of a front‑line service for telephone and personal enquiries and course bookings and queries.
* Ensuring that the staff are booked onto the appropriate resuscitation course in line with the course eligibility matrix.
* Providing coordination and in‑course administration of all national Resuscitation and Trauma programmes held within the service's multiple centres working in conjunction with the senior course coordinator, course directors and medical directors.
The role will provide direct organisational support to the Resuscitation service.
The post holder will work collaboratively with all administrators/secretaries and reception teams across the education and clinical skills centres and will supervise the resuscitation service assistant.
The service operates across all trust sites and the post holder will be expected to travel to different locations, where their role requires them to do so.
Main duties of the job
The role involves assisting in the coordination and delivery of national resuscitation and trauma training programmes, ensuring efficient service provision, and maintaining high standards aligned with governing bodies (e.g., Resuscitation Council UK). The post holder collaborates with the senior course coordinator, course coordinators, multi‑disciplinary teams, external agencies, and programme leads, using strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
* Liaise with staff and service users and external agencies such as Resuscitation Council UK and Royal College of Surgeons to provide a point of contact for service users.
* Meet and greet visitors communicating in a courteous manner.
* Liaise with other departments / teams as appropriate.
* Deal effectively with queries either face to face or on the telephone and escalates concerns where necessary.
* Escalate conflict situations where necessary.
* Accurately record telephone messages and other enquiries and refer as appropriate.
* Be sympathetic and sensitive to the requirements of staff service users when communicating by telephone or face to face including dealing with a difficult situation e.g. aggressive or demanding behaviour.
* Attend admin team / departmental meetings on a regular basis. Contribute to building effective teamwork in exchanging views ideas and communicating effectively.
* Maintain confidentiality at all times adhering to Caldicott Guidelines and Data Protection Act.
