Offer description

Would you like to join an adrenalin-filled environment? Tired of routine?

Do you want to be part of a dynamic, innovative and daring team?

Nissan Formula E is the right place for you!

Nissan Formula E Team has been a competitive force in motorsport and the FIA Formula E World Championship for many years. Based in Viry-Châtillon, in the Paris area (France), we are looking for a Software and Control Engineer to contribute to the teams development.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented and driven Software and Control Engineer to design, implement, and manage advanced software and control systems across all vehicle domains. This role is critical to enabling optimal vehicle performance, reliability, and driver integration through real-time control strategies and embedded systems development.

You will collaborate with performance, powertrain, and systems engineers to develop algorithms and control logic that give the team a competitive edge both on and off the track.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design and develop embedded control strategies for vehicle subsystems (e.g., powertrain, chassis, energy management, brake-by-wire, DRS, hybrid systems).

* Develop and maintain real-time control software using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink and embedded C.

* Support calibration, tuning, and validation of control algorithms using HIL/SIL platforms, rig testing, and on-track data.

* Work closely with systems engineers, simulation teams, and race engineers to align software behavior with vehicle performance targets.

* Integrate control systems with vehicle ECUs and data acquisition systems via CAN, Ethernet, or other protocols.

* Perform diagnostics, fault handling, and software debugging using telemetry and onboard logging tools.

* Ensure compliance with motorsport regulations (e.g., FIA rules, spec ECU constraints).

* Contribute to continuous improvement in control methodologies, software robustness, and deployment workflows.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

* 3+ years of experience in motorsport, high-performance automotive, or embedded controls environments (trackside experience preferred).

Technical Skills:

* Strong understanding of control theory, embedded systems, and real-time software development.

* Proficient in MATLAB/Simulink and code generation (e.g., Simulink Coder, Embedded Coder).

* Experience in embedded C programming and/or model-based development.

* Familiarity with vehicle networks (CAN, LIN, FlexRay) and communication protocols.

* Experience with HIL/SIL environments (e.g., dSPACE, NI, Speedgoat).

* Understanding of motorsport electronics systems (ECUs, data loggers, telemetry, etc.).

* Comfortable working with calibration tools (e.g., INCA, CANape, Pi Toolbox).

Soft Skills:

* Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

* Ability to work under pressure and deliver within tight timelines.

* Effective communicator across technical and operational teams.

* Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and collaborative.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with standardized motorsport ECUs (e.g., McLaren TAG-320, Bosch MS series or Marelli).

* Exposure to closed-loop simulations and performance prediction tools.

* Familiarity with software lifecycle tools (Git, Jira, Jenkins, etc.).

* Experience with hybrid systems or EV controls in motorsport or high-performance road cars.

* Working knowledge of motorsport rulebooks and regulatory frameworks (e.g., FIA, Formula E tech regs)
