We are looking to recruit a new Trainee Payroll Assistant based in Exeter, to assist with the payroll process as well as inputting information and data into our system.
Job Purpose: A Trainee Payroll Assistant is responsible for assisting and preparing an effective sub-contractor payroll with tasks including maintaining and inputting payroll information into the system, balancing and calculating weekly payroll data and to perform general related duties to support the Payroll Team.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* To maintain and input sub-contractor payroll information in a precise and accurate manner
* Assist in running an efficient and effective sub-contractor payroll service
* Check, calculate and input weekly and monthly payroll data.
* Process and monitor all sub-contractor changes including starters, leavers and other amendments in compliance with policy and payroll requirements
* Check and process expense claims and deductions
* Maintain all files and update information as required
* Have a good understanding of system requirements
* Carry out routine administrative/clerical duties as required
* Ad-hoc accounts duties as required
* Other duties as directed by Line Manager

* Ability to undertake basic calculations accurately
* Ability to convey information correctly, clearly and simply in a manner easily understood
* Ability to pay attention to details and be accurate
* Ability to organise, schedule and adapt work tasks to meet conflicting deadlines and respond to changing situations
* Ability to extract information meticulously
* Ability to organise and prioritise own work
* Effective communication skills
Desirable:
* Ability to assess situations and come up with solutions to solve problems
* Experience working within a busy office environment would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given
* Experience of using Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and database systems
Qualifications:
* Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent
