ABOUTTHE ROLE
This brilliant opportunity is made forhighly ambitious, tech savvy individuals who have a knack for buildingcreative, commercial and compelling strategies to support our clientswith their most complex challenges and biggest opportunities.
In this role you will work with other Strategy consultants(supported by a mix of Analysts & Data Scientists where needed) todevise pioneering strategies for opportunities covering the fullspectrum of Brand, Portfolio/Category, Comms & Experience andInnovation.
Strategy at FM is Fluid — our recommendationsinfluence decisions and senior stakeholders across multipledisciplines — and as such, our Strategists have to be solution- andchannel-agnostic. We treat Brand as an outcome to be influenced by themultitude of possible touchpoints across the consumer journey, and ourStrategies need to consider the full stack of contributing factorsacross language, product, service, function, emotion and technology.
You will take ownership of projects and client relationships,with support from the senior leadership, managing deliveryexpectations and presenting to business partners and stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
StrategicSkills and Capabilities
● MarketAnalysis: Conduct comprehensive market analyses to identifytrends, competitive landscapes and growth opportunities from a mix ofclient research/reports, desk research, and Freemavens analysis ofunprompted data
● Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with clientobjectives, ensuring agility in response to market dynamics; bringingin best-practice from past experience and the broader industry
● Executional fluency: Broadunderstanding of all marketing levers and how they work together tobuild brands (across Branding, Experience, Digital, Comms/Creative,Media, Packaging, Product & Service design) with domain expertise andexperience of implementation in at least one of these areas
●Innovative Problem-solving: Apply creativeproblem-solving techniques to address complex business challenges,fostering a culture of innovation within the consulting team.
●Data-Driven Insight with Empathy & Intuition: Workwith Analysts & Data Scientists to derive actionable insights, drivinginformed decision-making and enhancing strategic and creativerecommendations
● Process optimisation: Ability to contribute high level approach developmentthroughout projects, while looking to innovate and set the standardfor new and replicable approaches. Contribution to development ofFreemavens’ Strategy proposition through identification ofopportunities for service expansion
Requirements
Client Relationships & Impact
· Project management: Confident andcomfortable leading projects from end to end, including collaboratingwith and overseeing analysts on projects with both research andstrategy components, and ensuring a consistent level of quality inoutput.
· Narrative building: Distilling simplicity from complexity, using sound logic anddata-driven rigour to synthesise human insight into a clear, simpleand compelling narrative. Ability to produce outputs using a varietyof media, but primarily in slide format
· Opportunity framing: Solid business and categoryunderstanding, through which to identify the most important challengesto solve and align recommendations with key client and business needs.
· Business partnering & Stakeholder management: Ability to build rapport with junior and senior clients,engage in collaborative and constructive dialogue with, as well aspresent to, business partners and stakeholders.
· Account growth: Ability to form constructive workingrelationships with clients that identify and convert opportunities fornew projects through compelling proposal writing
· Facilitation & Engagement: Abilityto design anddeliver compelling workshops across a mix of challenges relating tostakeholder alignment, distilling simplicity from complexity, ideationand prioritisation
· Communication:Being an excellent communicator and presenter in all forms (in-person,email, over the phone), with a demonstrated ability to translate datainto client-friendly terms and tailor communications to individualaudiences.
Coaching, Culture & BusinessDevelopment
· Training: Contribute to advising and training of the Analytics team tohelp with insight synthesis, storytelling and activational fluency.
· Development: Demonstrate initiativetowards growth and self-development, be forthcoming with feedback onprojects, and actively seek out areas to improve, while looking toshare learnings, best practice and promote cross-fertilisation acrossteams.
· Commercial awareness: Demonstrate an understanding of the client-agencyrelationship and best practice, combined with an ability to identifyopportunities for Freemavens, keeping the client team up to date onany new developments.
· Industry: Demonstrate an up-to-date interest in market research,insights and marketing, and the potential implications for Freemavens’ways of working.
· Values: Ability torepresent Freemavens and its values, proposing and championinginternal initiatives, and actively participating in projects ordiscussions centred around business growth.
