Our client is seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to support their Group HSE Manager, ensuring safety remains at the forefront of everything they do. This is a great opportunity to join a respected and progressive business — either on a freelance or permanent basis — and take an active role in protecting people and the environment across a range of sites and projects.
🔧 Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert HSE advice to staff, sub-contractors, and stakeholders.
* Carry out audits, inspections, risk assessments, and training (including toolbox talks).
* Support the development and implementation of HSE policies, procedures, and systems.
* Monitor HSE compliance and performance against legal and internal requirements.
* Participate in accident and incident investigations and reporting.
* Work closely with third-party contractors to ensure safety and compliance.
* Prepare reports for HSE forums, board meetings, and regulatory purposes.
* Liaise with external agencies including the HSE, Fire Authority, and environmental bodies.
✅ What We're Looking For:
* NEBOSH Certificate (Construction or equivalent) – essential.
* Chartered Member of IOSH or working towards it.
* In-depth knowledge of current and emerging H&S legislation.
* Strong experience in the construction industry, particularly in housing repair and maintenance.
* Proven track record in risk assessments, audits, and implementing HSE systems.
* Excellent communication and report writing skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Recognised environmental qualification.
* Train the Trainer qualification or willingness to obtain one.
* NEBOSH Diploma (or working towards).
