About the school:
Aspris Telford School is an independent day school, located in an attractive semi-rural setting just a short walk from the historic town of Ironbridge. Ours is a small school with a big heart. Members of our team are all committed to providing a positive and nurturing experience to our students, most of whom have had very negative experiences of school before coming to us.
What you'll be doing:
9. Supporting pupils day-to-day with their learning and wellbeing, helping to create a positive, safe, and welcoming environment where they can thrive.
10. Delivering small group and one-to-one sessions that inspire confidence, and spark curiosity and engagement with the enrichment and vocational curriculum, including activities in PE and Design & Technology (D&T).
11. Adapting activities to suit different learning styles, making sure every pupil feels supported and included.
12. Building strong, positive relationships with pupils to encourage confidence and motivation.
13. Being a positive, supportive and approachable role model.
What you'll bring:
14. Experience working with secondary school-aged children and young people, particularly those with SEMH needs, bringing patience, empathy, and positivity to every interaction.
15. Confidence delivering hands-on, practical, and outdoor sessions - bonus points if you’ve got skills in woodwork or construction!
16. A flexible, can-do approach and a naturally upbeat personality that helps lift the team and creates a fun, supportive atmosphere.
17. A basic understanding of vocational pathways (such as BTEC) and an interest in helping pupils explore future opportunities in a practical, engaging way.
*Please note: a full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
As part of Aspris Children’s Services, we are immensely proud of the career pathway and training we can offer you. We ask that you can demonstrate the values needed for a role, transferable skills and life experience and in return we will give you all the training and support you need to progress.
If you want to progress your career in Education, Aspris Children’s Services will help you get there.
Aspris is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
