Our client, a leading supplier of oil and gas, and renewable energy equipment and solutions, is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Project Engineer to join their well-established team based in Norwich.
This is a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role requires full-time presence in the Norwich office.
Applicants must be willing to travel to various UK sites and offshore locations. Travel will be paid at enhanced rates.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Drive and ensure the completion of all allocated projects.
2. Ensure all tasks comply with company policies, procedures, and ISO 18001/9001/14001 standards.
3. Take responsibility for all Quality, Health, and Safety aspects of assigned projects.
4. Mentor graduates and project engineers, developing their skills and competencies.
5. Act as the main point of contact for complex and valuable projects, liaising with customers and internal departments.
6. Manage both the commercial and technical aspects of project delivery.
7. Own projects from handover to completion, recording and resolving actions via the action tracker.
8. Participate in the Duty Manager rota and provide holiday cover for the Business Unit Leader.
9. Identify and assess project risks, such as commercial, contractual, design, and schedule, minimizing their impact.
10. Define, manage, and drive the project delivery schedule, identifying critical path items and QA/QC elements.
11. Maintain accurate financial records reflecting project progress and forecasted costs.
12. Understand project scope, coordinating all parts of the company to ensure milestones are met.
13. Prepare user requirements, documentation, and manuals in collaboration with customers.
14. Order materials and services timely, raising enquiries and purchase requisitions.
15. Initiate HAZID and HAZOP meetings as necessary.
This role requires the unrestricted right to work in the UK.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role, with the ability to independently manage projects from handover to completion. Excellent IT and communication skills are essential.
ABOUT YOU:
1. Qualification in Engineering, Mechanical, or Electrical discipline.
2. Minimum of five years' relevant experience with proven success.
3. Experience in client-facing interactions.
4. Financial forecasting experience in a project environment.
5. Self-motivated with a focus on delivering objectives.
6. Ability to work at a high intensity while engaging with team members.
