We are seeking a warm, committed, and enthusiastic Nursery Teacher to join a welcoming and well-established primary school in Eltham, starting as soon as possible. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a Nursery class, delivering high-quality provision in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. The Role
As a Nursery Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences that support children’s development across all areas of the EYFS. You will create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where children feel confident to explore, communicate, and learn. Observation and assessment will play a key role in your practice, enabling you to track progress and plan meaningful next steps.
You will work closely with nursery practitioners and teaching assistants to ensure consistency and high-quality provision. Building positive relationships with parents and carers will also be essential, supporting children’s learning both in school and at home.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality Nursery provision in line with the EYFS
* Create a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
* Observe, assess, and record children’s progress accurately
* Use assessment to inform planning and next steps
* Support children’s personal, social, and emotional development
* Promote positive behaviour, independence, and communication skills
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and Early Years colleagues

* Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development
The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Have experience teaching in Nursery or Early Years
* Have a strong understanding of the EYFS framework
* Be nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic
* Demonstrate excellent classroom organisation and behaviour management
* Be reflective, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement
* Show a clear commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
