The role:
As an Environmental, Health and Safety Advisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. As a key member of the EHS Team we need you to assist in developing the Environmental, Health and Safety culture at Babcock. You'll contribute to developing procedures and guidance to ensure the best advice and support is available in order to deliver our aim of 'Home Safe Every Day' and Care and Learn.
Day to day, you’ll provide support and practical advice to managers and our people within a complex business, building strong and influential relationships with key stakeholders, including HR, trade union and employee representatives across the sector.
Deliver training programmes, such as Front-Line Leaders, Investigation, Risk Assessment and Synergi Life. Contribute to develop and deliver innovative and engaging health and safety training media; including awareness and induction, E-Safety, Toolbox Talks.
Carry out scheduled audits to ensure best practice, compliance with legislation and ISO & ISO. Contribute to developing and maintaining the Groups Health and Safety Management System.
Contribute to the development of the EHS Team's KPI’s, Reports, Synergi Life Dashboards required across the business. Within the EHS Team you'll be a champion for specific EHS topics such as Environmental and Sustainability, Wellbeing and Occupational Health, Fire Safety, Compliance, PUWER, CDM and so on.
This role is full-time with an agile working arrangement, with three days per week working onsite at our Ashton House facility in North Bristol.
Essential experience of the Environmental, Health and Safety Advisor:
Credible; demonstrable, relevant knowledge and experience gained within a similar EHS role
Experience of interpretation and application of relevant legislation
Good IT skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Confident; ability to convey health and safety knowledge and to deliver training knowledgeably in a clear and concise manner
Effective interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
Ability to interface, influence and build productive working relationships with people at all levels
Qualifications for the Environmental, Health and Safety Advisor:
We value difference and don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or qualifications, provided you hold some of the following and can demonstrate the required level of experience then we would like to hear from you.
1. NEBOSH certificate or equivalent (as a minimum)
2. Member of IOSH or related professional body
3. Grad IOSH working towards CMIOSH (advantageous)
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
