Location: Secondary school in Southampton Start Date: September Contract: Long-Term or Permanent Pay Range: £168 – £250 per day (dependent on experience) Working Hours: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (flexible for part-time applicants)
Overview
A thriving and oversubscribed 11–16 secondary school in Southampton is seeking a Maths Teacher to join their Mathematics department from September. This opportunity is open to both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers, with full-time or part-time options available.
You will teach Maths across Key Stages 3 and 4, contributing to a department that values high expectations, structured learning, and strong progress for all students. Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4
Prepare students for GCSE Maths through clear explanations and structured practice
Use assessment to track progress and inform teaching
Establish strong routines and promote positive behaviour for learning
Contribute to curriculum planning, intervention, and enrichment opportunities
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the department and wider school

Requirements
UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Maths at KS3 and ideally KS4
Strong subject knowledge and ability to explain concepts clearly
Effective classroom management and communication skills
A proactive, reflective and collaborative approach
