Mechanical Engineering — AI Trainer

We're looking for mechanical engineers to help train and improve some of the world's most advanced AI models. Your deep technical knowledge will be used to challenge, evaluate, and sharpen how AI reasons through complex engineering problems — from fluid dynamics to structural mechanics.

* Organization: Alignerr
* Type: Hourly Contract
* Location: Remote
* Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

* Design Complex Engineering Problems — Create advanced, domain‑specific challenges across areas like FEA (Finite Element Analysis), heat transfer, kinematics, fluid dynamics, and material science to rigorously test AI performance.
* Author Ground‑Truth Solutions — Write precise, step‑by‑step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for AI learning — clear enough to be unambiguous, rigorous enough to be authoritative.
* Audit AI Reasoning — Evaluate AI‑generated outputs including CAD logic, thermodynamic proofs, and material specifications for technical accuracy, safety, and compliance with engineering standards (e.g., ASME, ISO).
* Identify and Correct Failures — Spot logical flaws in AI reasoning — such as incorrect force distributions, energy conservation violations, or faulty material assumptions — and provide structured feedback to improve model behavior.
* Work Independently — Complete task‑based assignments on your own schedule with full flexibility.

Who You Are

* Advanced Degree: Master’s (pursuing or completed) or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field
* Strong Domain Knowledge: Solid foundations in solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, CAD/CAM, or manufacturing processes
* Technical Writer: Able to communicate complex physical phenomena and mathematical reasoning clearly and concisely in writing
* Precise and Detail‑Oriented: High accuracy when reviewing mathematical derivations, unit conversions, and physical system constraints
* No AI experience required — if you know your engineering, we'll handle the rest

Nice to Have

* Prior experience with data annotation, data quality, or evaluation workflows
* Proficiency in engineering software such as SolidWorks, MATLAB, or ANSYS
* Experience reviewing or writing technical documentation to industry standards

Why Join Us

* Work on cutting‑edge AI projects with leading AI research labs and teams
* Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule, from anywhere
* Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and collaboration with a global network of experts
* Apply your engineering expertise in a completely new and impactful way
* Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
