NavLiveis a spinout from the University of Oxford backed by awardwinningtechnology and algorithms. We are developing realtime spatial AIsolutions for the construction and geospatialindustries.
We use realtime multisensor fusionand highprecision positioning technology to build 3D models ofindoor and outdoor environments in realtime. Our tech can inferwhat has changed and provide insights to facility owners or sitedecisionmakers. We want to recruit a senior software engineer tohelp us develop our products and execute R&D projects withpartners in the abovementioned sectors.

Tasks
Yourrole as a Senior Software Engineer willinvolve:
* Supportingfield trials with clients on construction sites or nuclearfacilities. This will require interacting with client stakeholdersto define use cases and data collection procedures and some travelmostly within the UK.
* Writing software in C andPython to improve our core algorithms and data pipelines. This willinvolve both frontend and backend contributions. The idealcandidate will have experience with common UI frameworks and 3Dvisualisation tools.
* Working with hardwareplatforms to deploy our solutions in the field. These platformsinclude mobile robots and handhelddevices.
* Developing documentation and unittests to support the maintenance and development of ourprofessional software code base.
* Understandinghow our core positioning and mapping technology (known as SLAM)works in different scenarios and with different sensorcombinations.

Requirements
Keyrequirements for thisrole:
* Aptitude andinterest in problemsolving and debugging the acumen of rolling upyour sleeves to fix and triage technicalissues.
* Professional or research experiencewith C Python in the context of robotics and mobilesensing.
* Experience leading interactions withclients including understanding their projectrequirements.
* Experience in deploying softwareupgrades to remote devices collecting error reports and diagnostics(or interest in learning how to do thesetasks).
* Experience in setting up web servers orusing cloud platforms (AWS Google Cloud orAzure))
* Interest in understanding the role andimpact of Building Information Models (BIM) in digital constructiondesign and developmentworkflow.
The followingare desirable skills andtraits:
* Understandingmodern algorithms for visual and laser odometry place recognitionand reconstruction including their typical performance andlimitations.
* Experience with mobile roboticsand sensors such as lidar vision GPS andIMUs.
* An understanding of how perceptionpipelines are built in particular those involving 3D data such aspoint clouds and meshreconstructions.
* Experience working withAutoDesks Revit application and how it is used in engineeringdesign.
* Experience deploying machine learningpipelines such as PyTorch orTensorflow

Flexibility
Whilethis role will require some onsite and inperson time much of whatwe do is structured for hybrid work. We more highly value excellentwork rather than an onsite work environment.
Thisrole assumes a typical 37.5 working week centred around a set ofcore working hours but we can offer extra flexibility forcandidates with specificconstraints.
