Cricket Operations Manager

Cricket Operations Manager

Full time/Permanent

Location: Gloucestershire County Cricket Club


Purpose of the Role

To provide high-level operational and administrative support to the Director of Cricket, coaching staff and players. To ensure the efficient planning, organisation and delivery of all cricket operations within the Professional Cricket Department.


Key Responsibilities


Operational & Administrative Support

Provide comprehensive support to the Director of Cricket, professional coaching and support staff and players to ensure the smooth running of all cricketing operations.


Contribute actively to staff meetings.


Be the key point of contact for players on a wide range of cricket-related and operational matters.


Provide administrative support to the Board and Cricket Committee, including updates on player contracts and other cricket matters.


Ensure all cricket operations are delivered in line with Club policies, ECB regulations and within approved budgets.


Finance & Budget Management

Process payroll for the professional squad, coaching staff and talent pathway coaches. Work closely with the payroll provider to ensure accurate and timely payments.


Collate and manage match expenses for Men’s & Women’s teams including mileage and meal allowances. Liaising with our finance team for timely reimbursement.


Management of the cricket department budget, working closely with the Head of Finance to monitor and control expenditure.


Work with the Director of Cricket and Finance Team to manage player contracts, staffing costs and operational expenditure.


Logistics & Matchday Operations

Arrange travel, accommodation and transport logistics for players and staff. Liaise with travel agents and transport providers.


Coordinate overseas player logistics including visas, travel and accommodation on arrival.


Source and manage player housing and car rental requirements.


Organise towel contracts and weekly collection/distribution for home matches.


Oversee management of the Players & Match Officials Area (PMOA) during domestic and international matches, ensuring player and match official requirements are met.


Fulfil DLS Match Manager duties during fixtures, communicating with umpires and match referees as required.


Coordinate with the Catering Team to ensure suitable matchday catering for home and visiting teams, managing dietary requirements and feedback.


Equipment & Kit Management

Work closely with kit suppliers to order, distribute and manage all playing and training kit for Men’s and Women’s squads. Ensure accurate allocation within budget.


Acquire and manage cricket balls for all teams throughout the season.


Compliance & Governance

Act as the Club’s County Partnership Agreement (CPA) Champion, liaising with ECB network partners to ensure full compliance with ECB regulations and Club standards.


Manage all professional player registrations, including loans and short-term signings. Serve as the primary contact with the ECB and PCA.


Coordinate ECB and PCA-mandated workshops and training sessions, including anti-corruption, anti-doping, and welfare programs.

Skills & Experience

· Strong organisational and administrative skills with high attention to detail.

· Experience managing budgets and financial processes.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

· Understanding of professional cricket operations and ECB regulatory frameworks.
