A client within the Public Sector based in Merseyside is currently recruiting for an Building Control Team Leader to join their City Development Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having extensive experience of working within a local authority Building Control environment.
The Role
The key purpose of the role is to assist the Head of Building Control in effectively leading a team of Building Control Officers/Plan Examiners to ensure Building Regulation compliance, service delivery, and enforcement across the city.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Managing, supervising and supporting a team of Building Control professionals, ensuring performance targets are achieved.
Overseeing Building Regulations compliance on a wide range of building types, including complex and high-rise schemes.
Supporting the Building Safety Regulator in discharging their statutory duties.
Implementing and enforcing Building Regulations, Dangerous Structures and Safety at Sports Ground legislation.
Preparing reports, quotes, and monitoring KPIs to ensure competitive service delivery.
Deputising for the Head of Building Control when required.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
Full professional qualification i.e. RICS / CABE / CIOB / MIFE.
LABC/CIOB Level 6 qualification in Building Control (or equivalent experience).
Demonstrable competency to a Specialist Level in all classes (including 3H) as defined in the Building Safety Regulator’s Competency Framework.The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
Management or supervisory qualification.
Experience of financial planning and monitoring within Building Control.
Knowledge of working with local politicians and councillors.The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £90 per hour Umbrella LTD per hour Inside IR35 (approx. £70 per hour PAYE)
