About Us We’re a well-established steel fabrication and manufacturing business supplying precision components to a range of industries. We’re looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team — someone with strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the drive to maintain and improve quality across our operations. This is a hands-on role, working closely with production, engineering, and customers to ensure products meet all quality and compliance requirements. Main Responsibilities Ensure all products meet customer quality requirements and company standards. Manage customer and internal concerns, conducting root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective actions. Support supplier development, including closing out Supplier Corrective Action Reports (CARs). Carry out manufacturing process audits, manage quality concessions, and support compliance reviews. Maintain and report on key quality performance indicators (KPIs). Drive and participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving projects across the business. Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain strong quality communication and standards. Essential Knowledge & Skills Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (including GD&T). Proficient in using basic measuring equipment (e.g., callipers, micrometres, gauges). Working knowledge of automotive core tools: PPAP, Control Plans, FMEA, APQP. Experience with problem-solving tools and techniques (e.g., 8D reports). Proven experience handling customer and internal quality issues. Strong understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems. Confident computer skills – Microsoft Office and data reporting tools. Desirable Knowledge & Experience Experience in welding/fabrication environments (CSWIP 3.0 or 3.1 certification advantageous). Advanced use of measuring and inspection equipment. Experience managing or coordinating a calibration system. Understanding of compliance systems such as IMDS. Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements or internal auditing experience. Qualifications & Experience HNC or higher in an Engineering discipline (preferred). 3 years’ experience in a similar Quality Engineering or Quality Technician role.
