Job Description
Telesat is a leading global satellite operator providing reliable satellite communications solutions worldwide for over 50 years. We are developing Lightspeed, a revolutionary Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network scheduled to launch in 2027, which will enhance global broadband connectivity with high capacity, security, resiliency, ultra-low latency, and fiber-like speeds.
The role of the Customer Solution Engineer is to provide technical support within the Global Sales Engineering team, develop solutions based on customer requirements, and support sales activities across the EMEA region and globally. Responsibilities include designing communication solutions, working with sales teams and customers, presenting proposals, and supporting project implementation.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and estimate costs for Lightspeed communication solutions based on customer needs
* Collaborate with sales teams and customer engineering contacts to validate requirements
* Prepare and present proposals to customers
* Participate in customer meetings and identify new revenue opportunities
* Support network upgrades, performance reviews, and issue resolution
* Coordinate with marketing and product teams on network capacity
* Support projects from design to deployment
* Maintain engineering databases and participate in trade shows and technical demonstrations
Position Requirements
* Strong technical and analytical skills with experience supporting carrier or MNO accounts
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and foster relationships with clients
* Knowledge of MEF 3.0 standards, OSI layers, network technologies, and certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP or Juniper JNCIA/ENT
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Networking, Cloud, or Computer Science
* 10+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering or connectivity solutions
* Experience with satellite communications and RF hardware preferred
* Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
* Willingness to travel across the region for customer meetings and events
