Hybrid – 3 days in office, Enfield, London
4‑Month Fixed Term Contract (Potential Extension/Permanent Opportunity)
The role involves supporting the ILDS in addressing current DoLS backlogs. You will play a key role in ensuring that individuals who lack capacity are safeguarded lawfully and that all DoLS and Judicial applications are progressed efficiently and to a high legal standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake Mental Capacity and Best Interests Assessments in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and DoLS framework.
* Identify cases requiring progression to Judicial DoLS and prepare applications to the Court of Protection.
* Draft high‑quality court statements, reports and supporting documentation for judicial scrutiny.
* Analyse complex evidence and make defensible, legally robust recommendations.
* Work collaboratively with ILDS colleagues, health professionals, care providers, legal services, advocates and families.
* Monitor existing DoLS authorisations, ensuring compliance and timely review.
* Contribute directly to reducing the current DoLS backlog within the Community ILDS service.
* Maintain accurate case records and ensure statutory timescales are consistently met.
£32.49 per hour.
