At Atherstone, we have a team of around 550 colleagues producing sandwiches, wraps, rolls, bircher pots, and toasties for major UK retailers including Aldi, Shell, Costa, and Cafe Nero.
What you'll be doing
Shift Pattern: Night Shift Tues-Sat 7pm to 3am
As QA Supervisor on the night shift, you will lead the quality assurance team to ensure all materials, including finished products, are safe and meet all relevant specifications, legislation, and customer requirements.
* Collaborate with the Nights Production Manager to produce safe, legal food.
* Conduct audits and monitor key performance indicators to ensure consistency and compliance.
* Train team members on new processes and procedures.
* Build team capability to enhance communication and understanding of technical standards.
* Investigate customer complaints and internal or external non-conformances to inform resolutions.
* Organize organoleptic panels to maintain consistent quality.
* Ensure a safe working environment in line with Health, Safety, and Environment policies.
* Manage the night QA team, ensuring tasks are completed as scheduled.
* Monitor microbiological results and initiate investigations as needed.
* Coordinate with the hygiene team for swabbing and hygiene audits.
What we’re looking for
* Flexibility to support hygiene audits.
* Higher National Diploma or equivalent experience in food manufacturing.
* Experience managing and leading a team.
* Level 2/3 food safety certification.
* Basic knowledge of weight legislation and allergen management.
* Proficiency with computer systems.
* Understanding of internal audit processes and KPIs.
* CCP training including HACCP principles.
* Knowledge of GMP.
* Experience with non-conformance reporting techniques.
* Microbiological awareness and food safety understanding.
* Basic hygiene principles and legal labeling knowledge.
