Overview

Role: Deputy Manager

Location: Sittingbourne, Kent

Salary: £15.94 per hour (£31,083 per annum) plus benefits.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 3 support shifts and 2 admin days per week. Shifts vary between 7:30 am and 9:30 pm, Monday to Sunday (shift rota).

Contract: Full-time, permanent.

Driving requirement: A valid full UK manual driving licence is essential for this role.

Right to work: Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer any skilled worker visas.


Who you will be supporting

CB’s Support Role – Make a Real Difference

You will support a young woman with learning disabilities and complex health needs, including epilepsy. The role requires someone calm, upbeat and trustworthy to help her do the things she loves. You will help with communication using Makaton and picture cards, personal care, and daily activities. You will enjoy music, laughter and good company, while also valuing quiet time at home.

AH’s Support Role – Active, Rewarding, and Varied

AH is a lively individual with limited communication who benefits from a consistent, patient team. He uses some Makaton and responds well to calm, clear communication and gentle redirection. This is a hands-on, active role requiring physical fitness and confidence driving. You will support AH through a busy weekly schedule including farm work, arts and crafts, hydrotherapy and gardening. Experience with learning disabilities is essential, as is a positive, can-do attitude.


Essential Criteria

To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate exposure to the following areas of expertise:

* Level 4 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) or willingness to undertake.
* Statutory guidance & CQC regulations exposure.
* Experience with complex health needs, learning disabilities, autism and sight loss.
* Experience in managing, assessing and mentoring new supporters.
* Resilient, calm and able to work under pressure.
* Effective verbal and written communication and ability to produce written reports.
* Hold a full UK driving licence.

* Management Responsibilities: assist the service manager to ensure high-quality support, including rota management, staff supervisions, training new team members, leading and supporting the team to complete support plans and risk assessments.
* Partnership Working: work with the people we support, their families, our specialist support teams and external agencies to champion skilled interactions, person-centred planning and partnership working.
* Creativity and Planning: design and implement professionally developed support plans to improve daily life, with sound judgment and creative solutions.
* Daily Care & Support: assist with personal care, meal preparation, medication and other daily tasks.
* Building Relationships: understand needs and help individuals live life on their own terms.
* Empowering Independence: assist with personal goals and encourage creativity and independence.
* Social Engagement: support holidays, events and hobbies to help individuals enjoy activities they love.
* Respect & Dignity: ensure individuals and families are treated with respect, dignity and equality.
