Overview
The Shore Group has been retained by a leading £130 million+ Workplace Design & Build organisation to identify and appoint a Managing Director to lead a business unit within their London Design and Build division.
As a key member of the UK Board, the Managing Director will take P&L ownership, driving growth through the procurement and delivery of CAT A and CAT B Commercial Fit Out Projects.
This is a pivotal leadership role for an ambitious and commercially astute individual seeking the opportunity to shape strategy, build a high-performing team, and expand market presence in the UK.
The successful candidate will inherit an established and well-resourced platform, supported by a collaborative team, while being empowered to define their own growth trajectory within a progressive and entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and grow a team in line with group strategy and financial objectives
* Oversee full project lifecycle delivery for CAT A and CAT B office fit outs, typically valued between £4m – £25m
* Drive business development through an established network of end-user clients, landlords, agents, and consultants
* Own the P&L and ensure sustained profitability, operational excellence, and client satisfaction
* Act as a key representative of the business, strengthening its brand presence across the London market
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and success
* Oversee the tender, pitch, and project handover processes, ensuring commercial integrity and delivery excellence
Requirements:
Due to the nature of the position, you will ideally match the following:
* Proven leadership experience within a reputable D&B company with a personal track record of securing and delivering office projects, ideally between £4 Million - £25 Million
* Currently operating at Managing Director level or as a senior second-in-command seeking progression into full P&L ownership
* Demonstrated success in shaping and leading work-winning strategies, overseeing bids and client pitches through to seamless project completion
* Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills, with strong emotional intelligence and a consultative leadership style
* A credible and engaging leader with the gravitas to inspire confidence across clients, colleagues, and stakeholders alike
