Band 3 Physiotherapy Assistant & Job Aide role in the Musculoskeletal Outpatient Service based at Kingsgate House, Stockport.
Responsibilities
* Support a visually impaired Physiotherapist, assisting with assessments and functional testing.
* Assist with specific assessment and treatment techniques under a qualified physiotherapist.
* Prepare patients for treatment, ensuring a safe environment.
* Accurately report work undertaken to the physiotherapist.
* Monitor stock and maintain documentation (filing, photocopying, electronic).
* Assist patients with independent prescribed practice.
* Work alongside physiotherapists and other assistants to run patient activity groups.
* Assist physiotherapist in rehabilitation and exercise classes and maintain required documentation.
* Operate independently in line with relevant policies.
Qualifications
* GCSE English and GCSE Maths.
* Fluency in spoken English.
* NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
* Understanding of the day‑to‑day role of a Physiotherapy Assistant.
* NVQ Level 3 in Diagnostic and Therapy Support (desirable).
* Prior experience in a healthcare/allied health professional setting.
* Team worker.
* Flexible and adaptable.
* Positive attitude to work.
* Ability to work under supervision, accepting direction.
* Awareness of cultural diversity and equality issues.
* Awareness of disability impairment.
Work‑Related Circumstances
* Willingness to train as an Assistant and develop knowledge/skills.
* Maintain confidentiality and discretion.
* Ability to tolerate sustained physical effort for the majority of duties (moving and handling patients).
Requirements
* Enhanced DBS check required; cost £54.90 will be deducted from first Trust salary.
* Annual DBS update subscription fee of £16.
