Hope School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to support the school cook in the preparation and delivery of healthy, nutritious meals for our pupils. You will play a key role in providing a high-quality, efficient, and welcoming catering service to pupils and staff, helping to create a safe and positive dining environment for all children.
Hope School is a special school for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMH). Pupils range from aged years. Pupils who attend the school have diagnoses that include: ASD, ADHD, Attachment disorder, Sensory processing difficulties, Speech Language, and Communication difficulties.
Hope school has a dedicated staff team of 35. With effective safeguarding policies and practices in place. Hope is a safe, caring, and enriching environment for the 68 children attending the school. Furthermore, it is a special school and has crucially adopted attachment and trauma-informed friendly practices as the basis for working with its pupils. The school has built a formidable reputation and is recognised as being a Centre of Excellence both locally and nationally.
Your Key Responsibilities:
· Assist with food preparation and serving meals to pupils and staff.
· Ensure a supportive and welcoming atmosphere during lunchtime.
· Carry out cleaning duties in the kitchen and dining areas.
· Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and equipment.
· Follow all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
· Work effectively as part of a team and communicate positively with colleagues and children
About You:

· Physically fit to meet the demands of the role.
· Knowledgeable about food hygiene and health & safety (Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 desirable).
· Experienced in catering or food service (school experience desirable).
